Followers of the Bon religion regard Mount Kailash as the ‘axis mundi,’ a sacred point connecting the earthly realm to the heavens.

Mansarovar Lake:

Located at the base of Mount Kailash, the serene Mansarovar Lake is fed by the glacier of the sacred mountain. Surrounded by brown hills and snow-capped peaks, this heavenly lake is believed to have originated in the mind of Brahma, the Hindu god of creation. The journey commences from Kathmandu, where travelers explore the city’s World Heritage Sites before proceeding to the Nepal-Tibet border. After the kora is complete, travelers descend to Darchen, then drive back to Saga via Mansarovar. Finally, they return to Kathmandu through the same route.
