Mardi Himal Trek Itinerary

Upon your arrival you will be greeted by a representative from Glance Tours and Treks. You will be then transferred to Hotel. After hotel check-in, you can take a rest or hang around in the city or visit our office; it all depends upon your interests. In the evening we will organize a welcome dinner at an excellent traditional Nepalese restaurant, where you will enjoy a Nepalese cultural program as well as a fine Nepali meal.

After breakfast, we start guided tour in Kathmandu which includes the historical Kathmandu Durbar Square, spiritual attraction Pashupatinath Temple, Monkey Temple (Swoyambhunath), and Bouddhanath which is one of the largest the largest stupa in the world are listed as the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. After getting back to hotel take a rest and prepare for a trek.

Pokhara is 200 km away from Kathmandu. Every morning 7 am, bus will leave to Pokhara from Tourist bus station which is 5 minute away from Thamel. (You can also take Private Vehicle or fly). It takes 6 to 7 hours to reach Pokhara by road. We will stay in a hotel in lakeside of Pokhara, which is one of the tourist spot in Pokhara. After short rest, we will have short time to walk around lakeside in evening.

An hour ride in a taxi takes us to a town of Phedi from where the trek begins.
After climbing up the stairs for about an hour and a half, we’ll be starting gentle ascent passing the beautiful rice fields, viewing some of the mountain peaks and numerous local settlements. After the up and down walk we will reach to the final destination, Pothana .There we will be staying in a guest house.

After the delicious breakfast in Pothana, We will head towards the steep uphill climb along the way of dense jungle. You will be some of the wildlife in the jungle that may include leopards, monkeys, deer or various species of birds. The views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges will help us to acclimate the tiresome ascents. We may reach the forest camp in the afternoon and overnight there in guesthouse or tent.

After a short steep climb you will be out of forest. After 3 hours of walk you will reach to High camp, reach by lunch time and spend afternoon with the specular view of Annapurna south and Machhapuchre closely.

Have the delicious breakfast we will head towards Mardi himal Base camp. If the weather and condition is in our favor then we will trek up to 5000m high from where we see Mardi Himal separates from south face of Machhapuchhre. You will see the Annapurna I highest of all and the best panorama view of Dhaulagiri to Ganesh Himal.
In the afternoon, we will descend down to the tea house and overnight there enjoying with the hot tea.

After a relaxed breakfast, trek slowly through the shade of the forest and out onto terraced fields, descending 5249 ft. You will follow a different route down, to the upper Mardi Khola, the torrent that was once the ice and snow of the Mardi Himal. Although remote and still off the beaten ‘tea-house’ trekking routes, your expedition now follows the arm valley and past friendly villages into Kalimati.

The path from Siding follows the contour of the river valley, down between the pastures and through Tamang and Gurung villages. Eventually, you will arrive at Lwang village, your stop for the night. Here, there are organic tea gardens. In the evening, meet a mother’s group that works to raise money for local projects.

After breakfast walk along the outcrop and back to road from where we will get transportation to get back to Pokhara and back to Kathmandu.

Day 11 :
Departure

We’ll bid you a farewell, share goodbyes and best wishes for your onward journey to your destination. Our staff will take you to the international airport in a vehicle carrying your luggage bags.
