Gokyo ChoLa Pass via EBC Trek Itinerary

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, you can take some rest and explore the vibrant streets of Kathmandu at your own pace.

In the morning, you will take a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, a small town in the Everest region. From Lukla, you will begin your trek to Phakding. The trail descends through lush forests and crosses several suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. It takes approximately 3 hours to reach Phakding, where you will spend the night.

Today's trek takes you to Namche Bazaar, a vibrant Sherpa town and the gateway to the Everest region. The trail continues along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing suspension bridges and ascending through pine forests. As you approach Namche Bazaar, you will be rewarded with your first glimpse of Everest. The trek takes around 5 to 6 hours to reach Namche Bazaar, where you will spend the night.

To acclimatize to the high altitude, you will spend an extra day in Namche Bazaar. This day is dedicated to exploring the local area and taking short hikes to higher altitudes. You can visit the Everest View Hotel for stunning panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and other peaks. You can also explore the lively market and interact with the local Sherpa people to learn about their culture and traditions.

Leaving Namche Bazaar, the trail gradually ascends through rhododendron and juniper forests, offering beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. You will pass by small settlements and yak pastures before reaching Dole, situated at an altitude of 3680 meters. The trek takes approximately 6 hours, and you will spend the night in Dole.

Continuing the trek, you will ascend further towards Machhermo. The trail takes you through alpine landscapes, passing by the beautiful Dudh Koshi River. You will hike alongside the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest glacier in the Himalayas. After a 4-hour trek, you will reach Machhermo, where you will spend the night.

Today, you will trek to Gokyo, a stunning lakeside village nestled in the lap of the mountains. The trail offers magnificent views of the surrounding peaks, including Cho Oyu, the sixth highest mountain in the world. After reaching Gokyo, you can take an afternoon hike to Gokyo Ri, a popular viewpoint, for breathtaking panoramic views of the Everest region. You will spend the night in Gokyo.

In the morning, you can hike to the fourth and fifth lakes of Gokyo, which offer serene views of the turquoise glacial lakes and the surrounding snow-capped peaks. Afterward, you will continue your trek towards Thagnak. The trail gradually ascends, and you will be surrounded by stunning Himalayan vistas. After a 4-hour trek, you will reach Thagnak, where you will spend the night.

Today's trek is challenging as you cross the high mountain pass, Cho La Pass, at an altitude of 5367 meters. The trail involves steep ascents and descents, and you will need to be cautious while navigating the rocky terrain. Once you reach Cho Dzongla, you will be rewarded with panoramic views of Ama Dablam, Lobuche, and other peaks. You will spend the night in Cho Dzongla.

From Cho Dzongla, the trail continues towards Lobuche. As you trek, you will pass through the Khumbu Glacier and witness the harsh but awe-inspiring glacial landscapes. You will also have views of majestic peaks, including Pumori and Nuptse. After a 3-hour trek, you will reach Lobuche, where you will spend the night.

Today's trek takes you to Gorakshep, the last village before Everest Base Camp. The trail follows a rocky path, and you will walk alongside the Khumbu Glacier. After reaching Gorakshep, you can embark on an afternoon hike to Kala Patthar, a famous viewpoint renowned for its panoramic sunrise views over Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse. You will spend the night in Gorakshep.

Today is a significant day as you trek to Everest Base Camp, the starting point for mountaineering expeditions to the world's highest peak. The trail is challenging and requires careful navigation through rocky moraines and the Khumbu Icefall. After reaching Everest Base Camp and celebrating your achievement, you will trek back to Gorakshep. From Gorakshep, you will descend to Pheriche, where you will spend the night.

From Pheriche, you will retrace your steps and descend towards Namche Bazaar. The trail offers beautiful views of the Himalayan landscapes and provides an opportunity to reflect on your incredible journey. After a 7-hour trek, you will reach Namche Bazaar, where you will spend the night.

Leaving Namche Bazaar, you will continue your descent towards Lukla. The trail gradually descends through forests and crosses several suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. After an 8-hour trek, you will reach Lukla, where you can celebrate the successful completion of your trek with your fellow trekkers. You will spend the night in Lukla.

In the morning, you will take a scenic flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. You can spend the rest of the day relaxing or exploring the vibrant streets of Kathmandu.

Day 16 :
Departure

It's time to say goodbye to Nepal as your memorable Everest Base Camp Trek comes to an end. You will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight, taking with you beautiful memories of the majestic Himalayas and the warm hospitality of the Nepalese people.
